Cyber-Lynch Mob “Raging” out of Control

After encouraging one another to work up a “rage” and then to act on it, Julie Anne Smith (of and her slander blitz crew  are tweeting out sexually explicit accusations to the world at #whowouldjesussue. True to character, Julie Anne’s tweets are far more sexually charged, disgusting, and defamatory than all the rest put together. While most of the accusations at #whowouldjesussue fall short of Julie Anne’s shock-jock perversion, they still include bold defamatory accusations of “child abuse.”

A question must be asked of all those who got their “rage” up and carried torches and pitchforks in Julie Anne’s lynch mob. When you don’t actually know if a man is guilty of anything how can you justify the global destruction that you are bringing upon him, his wife, his church, Chuck Smith, Calvary Chapel, etc.? Yesterday you put a “child abuse” noose around a man’s neck and hung him publicly on the internet. You hung his wife from a branch alongside of him. You hung Chuck Smith just down the way in Costa Mesa, from an old oak tree planted in 1965 that has borne much good Gospel fruit. You’ve got the rest of Calvary Chapel’s pastors all noosed up and ready to hang next.

A Word for the cyber-lynch mob:

“You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. 2 You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice.” (Ex 23:1-2)

In America you are innocent until proven guilty, NOT guilty until proven innocent. And certainly NOT guilty because Julie Anne Smith says so on her twitter, facebook, and slander-blog. Julie Anne’s cyberbullies are abusing the liberty of Free Speech by declaring a man and his wife “GUILTY” of vile crimes in the global court of public opinion (hundreds of tweets, facebook entries, slander-blogs) and then seeking to ruin them in their church, denomination, and community with their accusations of “child abuse” guilt to news agencies, churches, and Christian leaders across America. That is called defamation. It is against the law. It is against God’s law, and against our nation’s laws. It destroys lives, men, women, children, churches, ministries, schools, businesses, clubs, and organizations. Julie Anne Smith is playing judge, her slander-blogging friends play jury, and her extended cyberbully crew play the executioner throwing the switch on their virtual electric chair.

As evil as genuine child abuse is, we cannot afford to let lynch mob rule become the de facto law of the land. Who will be cyber-lynched next? Have you ever given counsel that wasn’t well received? Have you ever placed someone under church discipline? Have you ever had to fire an employee? Does anyone have an axe to grind with you, your church, your denomination, your theology, your Bible, the Gospel you preach, or the Lord Jesus whom you serve? YOU could be next. YOU, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR CHURCH, AND YOUR DENOMINATION may one day see the glow of torches and glint of pitchforks coming to put an “abuse” noose around your neck/s.

The Lord Jesus warned us:

“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his master.  25 It is enough for a disciple that he be like his teacher, and a servant like his master. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub (the Devil), how much more will they call those of his household!  26 Therefore do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, and hidden that will not be known.” (Matt 10:24-26)

Don’t be quick to abandon those who are viciously and relentlessly accused by cyberbully/slander-bloggers. Don’t turn a blind eye to those lynched pastors you see swinging from the nearest tree outside the church. CUT THEM DOWN! And don’t condemn the necessary legal posse (lawsuit) that seeks to hold the lynch mob accountable for their unlawful hangings and the incredible destruction they are bringing upon lives, families (women & children), churches, denominations, and the Body of Christ as a whole.

If you disagree with Matthew Henry, Albert Barnes, and John Calvin (see below) regarding the unfortunate, rare, but very real necessity of lawsuits to stop evil doers, you really should disagree humbly until you have experienced the cyber-lynch mob’s suffocating “abuse” rope around your own neck for a year, two years, four years, or perhaps eight years. You really should disagree very mildly until you have watched the cyber-lynch mob’s filthy “abuse” noose tighten around your wife’s throat as they string her up next to you. You really should disagree very mildly until you see your children strung up by Julie Anne Smith’s ”rage” filled, cyber-lynch mob. You really should disagree very mildly until you have watched Julie Anne Smith, Meaghan Varela, and their fellow lynchers hang a precious family from your congregation with their vindictive lies. Finally, you really should disagree very mildly in light of the fact that these are three (Henry, Barnes, Calvin) of the Bible interpreters that pretty much every sound Christian, Bible student, Bible teacher, expository preacher, and pastor look to and quote on regular occasion to aid them in understanding and communicating the truth of God’s holy Word.

“Here is at least an intimation that they went to law for trivial matters, things of little value; for the apostle blames them that they did not suffer wrong rather than go to law (v. 7), which must be understood of matters not very important. In matters of great damage to ourselves or families, we may use lawful means to right ourselves. We are not bound to sit down and suffer the injury tamely, without stirring for our own relief; but, in matters of small consequence, it is better to put up with the wrong. Christians should be of a forgiving temper. And it is more for their ease and honor to suffer small injuries and inconveniences than seem to be contentious.”

“Where a Christian is INJURED in his person, character, or property, he has a right to seek redress. Courts, are instituted for the protection and defense of the innocent and the peaceable against the fraudulent, the wicked, and the violent. And a Christian owes it to his country, to his family, and to himself, that the man who has injured him should receive the proper punishment. The peace and welfare of the community demand it. If a man murders my wife or child, I owe it to the laws and to my country, to justice and to God, to endeavor to have the law enforced. So if a man robs my property, or injures my character, I may owe it to OTHERS as well as to myself that the law in such a case should be executed, and the rights of others also be secured.”

As for those who strictly condemn all legal contentions, let them realize that they therewith repudiate God’s holy ordinance, and one of the class of gifts that can be clean to the clean [Titus 1:15], unless, perchance, they wish to accuse Paul of a shameful act, since he both repelled the slanders of his accusers, exposing at the same time their craft and malice [Acts 24:12 ff.], and in court claimed for himself the privilege of Roman citizenship [Acts 16:37; 22:1, 25], and, when there was need, appealed from the unjust judge to the judgment seat of Caesar [Acts 25:10-11]… Such men should therefore understand that lawsuits are permissible if rightly used. There is right use, both for the plaintiff in suing and for the accused in defending himself, if the defendant presents himself on the appointed day and with such exception, as he can, defends himself without bitterness, but only with this intent, to defend what is his by right, and if on the other hand, the plaintiff, undeservedly oppressed either in his person or in his property, puts himself in the care of the magistrate, makes his complaint, and seeks what is fair and good.”

Julieann has never, ever been about helping anybody heal from anything. She is ALL about destroying Bible believing, Bible-preaching pastors and their families, anywhere she can. Doesn’t matter to her one bit if she’s never been to your church, or even knows the pastor. Slander blogging opens up EVERYchurch EVERYWHERE to her wicked behavior and foul lies.

She has been a rebel against Christ’s church all along…and now she is taking her rebellion to the next level.

Slander blogging…coming soon to a church near you!

  2. Eilyn Murphy says:

“On the first Sunday at the church we called home after our abusive church, we listened to a sermon about false teachers. I still remember the sermon. The person preaching spoke from 2 Peter 2 and mentioned that false teachers usually have a sexual component in their false teaching. The more I have studied false teachers, I have seen that this pattern is true.” ~Julie Anne Smith (January 9, 2013).

“True to character, Julie Anne’s tweets are far more sexually charged, disgusting, and defamatory than all the rest put together.”

I guess it’s okay for her, but not anyone else. Walking contradiction.

    • chuckoneal says:

      Great point Eilyn.

A few Proverbs come to mind:

      Prov 4:24
Put away from you a deceitful mouth,
And put perverse lips far from you.

      Prov 6:12-19
A worthless person, a wicked man,
      Walks with a perverse mouth;
13 He winks with his eyes,
      He shuffles his feet,
      He points with his fingers;
14 Perversity is in his heart,
      He devises evil continually,
      He sows discord.
      15 Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly;
Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy.
16 These six things the Lord hates,
Yes, seven are an abomination to Him:
      17 A proud look,
      A lying tongue,
      Hands that shed innocent blood,
18 A heart that devises wicked plans,
Feet that are swift in running to evil,
19 A false witness who speaks lies,
And one who sows discord among brethren.

  3. Stephanie says:

“Now brother will deliver up brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” –Matthew 10: 21-22

Sounds like a verse those early persecuted Christians would understand, but do we really live that verse today? We have certainly witnessed this verse come to life in our own church with Julieanne, Meaghan Varela, the Millers and their followers. And because the devil has no new plan under the sun, these “abuse junkies” will continue to use their playbook against other churches and faithful pastors. Anyone who has even occasionally read Julieanne over the years has witnessed her metamorphosis as she sinks deeper and races further from the authority, direction, and truth of God’s Word. She has become a god unto herself. Unlike the angel Michael, she never says “the Lord rebuke you” when her followers shower praise and worship her way. They follow her like blind mice. She basks in her own self interest and glory. It is disgusting. But I thank her for this lesson: I have come to realize how easy it is for her sort to craft lie after lie in pursuit of the ruination of anyone with which they are in disagreement. When the first lie isn’t sensational enough to go viral, they gleefully churn out other lies more fantastical than the first, and wrap the lies up to look very legitimate. Knowing personally the extravagant lies she and her cronies have spread about our own church, there is no way I would so easily believe yet another batch of abuse stories. Julieanne has no credibility in my book, but other individuals, and sadly, ministries, have acted imprudently and extended her and her groupies credibility without affording her victims a hearing.

“But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever.” Jude 1:10-13

Julieanne, I pray you might be able to repent from your apostasy, even though your actions make this more and more difficult with each passing day.

“The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.

He who walks in his uprightness fears the Lord,
But he who is perverse in his ways despises Him.” Proverbs 14:1-2

You are harming your own children and marriage. How much of your time and energy have your robbed from your husband, your children, to fan the flames of the fires you set? From what I see, you devote more hours in a day than a full time job to “getting on your rage” and hate campaigns. Your most important responsibility is your own home, which must surely be neglected since you have taken up blogging. You are harming the church and those called to pastor the church. You are harming genuine victims of abuse with your self-aggrandizing cries of wolf. You are a danger to anyone who follows you. You are destroying your own soul. And your sin has so warped and twisted your mind that unless the Lord allow it, you are blind to a conviction of your sins. I sometimes pray that Steve or a pastor would counsel you, warn you of these things, but then you would not receive that counsel. First of all, you would not suffer a church where the pastor wasn’t either afraid of you or cowing to you. I doubt Steve would rock the boat either; he has to live with you. And any pastor who would dare to rebuke you, you would set your sites on his destruction. What a horrifying place you are in. I’m truely sad for you. You aren’t alone. You have plenty of friends in the same spot. But I am acquainted with you. I pray for you in a more personal way because of that acquaintance. I pray for a conversion not unlike the apostle Paul, who went from persecuter and murder of the saints to a faithful slave of Christ, all by the wonderful grace of God. I pray that same sort of conversion would deliver you.

For all those who find themselves victims of Julieanne and company, I pray the peace of Christ Jesus be with you, that your trials will increase your faith in ways you never dreamed, and that God’s Word would become more alive to you than it ever has been, for these are the blessings our church family have reaped from such trials.

A marginalized member of the cyber-lynch mob is jumping up and down behind the scenes demanding full credit for their hard work in publicly maligning a man, a woman, a church, and Calvary Chapel as a whole. I’ll give credit where credit is due. A website comprised of anonymous, flippant, cowards by the name of whowouldjesussue organized the slander campaign that Julie Anne Smith championed with the most explicit and disgusting accusations of the entire group.

  5. George says:

It is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting. I don’t think Julie Anne and her hate mongers are guided by the Holy Spirit at all.

  6. John says:

Who am I? I have no respect for justice. I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives. I am cruel and malicious and gather strength with age. The more I am quoted, the more I am believed. My victims are helpless. They cannot protect themselves against me because I control all criticism about me. My friends all agree with me or they are not my friends. Once I tarnish a reputation, it is never the same. My goal is to break up families and ruin marriages. I aim to destroy careers and cause heartache and sleepless nights. I wreck churches and separate Christians. I spawn suspicion and generate grief. It is a successful day if I can make innocent people cry. The Word of God calls me gossip/slander. My name is Juliann/Meaghan.

It is quite clear that God has strong opinions about gossip/slander. To determine God’s feelings on the subject one needs to look no further than his earliest covenant with the Israelites when God told Moses, “Do not go about spreading gossip/slander among your people. Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the LORD.” (Lev. 19:16)

“I am the Lord” is God’s signature that declares his supreme authority in a particular matter. Since it is attached to this commandment, it shows how seriously God views slander.

PSALMS 101:5a, “Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him (or her) I will destroy.”

“One who secretly slanders a neighbor” is guilty of gossip. God is greatly displeased with those who talk behind people’s backs. Gossipers will be destroyed. Juliann/Meaghan—you might want to repent before you fall into the hands of the Living God.

PROVERBS 6:16-19, “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”

God hates a lying tongue and one who sows discord among brethren. Gossipers/Slanders are an abomination in the sight of God. Juliann/Meaghan—this should cause you sleepless nights but if you repent and “turn to the Lord, our God; he is merciful and quick to forgive.” (Isaiah 55:7)

I CORINTHIANS 3:3. “for you are still fleshly. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and are you not walking like mere men?”

People gossip because they are not spiritually minded, but they are carnally minded. The carnally minded person insists on their own way, the spiritually minded person builds up the other person. Juliann/Meaghan—you are never too far away to be out of the reach of God. Remember, if you repent “The LORD is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion.” (Numbers 14:18)

I think that gossip is very much an expression of pride and human arrogance, which is why people feel so justified when they engage in it.

PROVERBS 10:18, “He who conceals hatred has lying lips, and he who spreads slander is a fool.”

People bear false witness because they HATE the one they speak about. People spread gossip because they are fools.

I TIMOTHY 5:13, “At the same time they also learn to be idle, as they go around from house to house; and not merely idle, but also gossips and busybodies, talking about things not proper to mention.”

People gossip because they are idle and want to feel that they have some influence. Normally if you look at a person who is gossiping, they are not doing any spiritual work. Those who routinely gossip, usually speak against those who are doing spiritual work.

Juliann/Meaghan—What is repentance? John MacArthur correctly said:
“Repentance is no more a meritorious work than its counterpart, faith. It is an inward response. Genuine repentance pleads with the Lord to forgive and deliver from the burden of sin and the fear of judgment and hell. It is the attitude of the publican who, fearful of even looking toward heaven, smote his breast and cried, “God, be merciful to me, the sinner!” (Luke 18:13). Repentance is not merely behavior reform. But because true repentance involves a change of heart and purpose, it inevitably results in a change of behavior.”

“Like faith, repentance has intellectual, emotional, and volitional ramifications. Berkhof describes the intellectual element of repentance as “a change of view, a recognition of sin as involving personal guilt, defilement, and helplessness.” The emotional element is “a change of feeling, manifesting itself in sorrow for sin committed against a holy God.” The volitional element is “a change of purpose, an inward turning away from sin, and a disposition to seek pardon and cleansing.” (Berkhof, Systematic Theology, 486) Each of those three elements is deficient apart from the others. Repentance is a response of the total person.”

  7. Not Alone says:

You guys are doing exactly what you accuse Julie Anne Smith of doing. What makes you think you are any different? Same bible. Same belief structure and yet you both claim the other has no Spirit.

I can see from your angle but I also see that you and your bunch has no love.

With no love, you have nothing. Stop your hate campaign.

    • chuckoneal says:

The same? Julie Anne Smith is attacking pastors, churches, and denominations with slanderous accusations of abuse. We are exposing her and her slander-blogging crew as the incredibly destructive cyberbully movement that they are.

No love? We love the families that these revilers are torturing with their slander. We love Gospel/Bible preaching pastors. We love Gospel/Bible centered Churches and their dear saints. We love Gospel/Bible preaching denominations and fellowships. Furthermore, it is loving to rebuke soul damning sin like “reviling.” It doesn’t end well for revilers. Rebuking and exposing the sin as destructive temporally and eternally is loving.

      1 Cor 6:9-11
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
